Newcastle United have confirmed their starting lineup to play Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday night and Eddie Howe has made several changes.
It is Newcastle United’s final game of one of the most remarkable years in their history.
Indeed, the club have enjoyed huge success in 2025 but this team now face difficult questions after an underwhelming start to the Premier League campaign.
If Newcastle United don’t beat Burnley, where would you stand on Eddie Howe’s future?
Howe is under pressure at Newcastle and has unsurprisingly made several changes to the team who lost to Manchester United on Boxing Day.
Newcastle United’s starting XI vs Burnley
Nick Pope starts in goal for the first time since November, while Joelinton returns to the midfield.
The Brazilian will play alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali in midfield, with Lewis Miley at right-back.
Lewis Hall is at left-back, while Yoane Wissa starts in a front three also containing Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon.
Guimaraes is one booking away from a suspension and will miss the next game if he is booked, as that would mean he has amassed five yellow cards before the 19-game mark.
Nick Pope is back 😍 What changes would you have made to this team?!
The wait for Wissa X Woltemade goes on…
If the Brazilian does avoid a yellow card, however, the slate will be wiped clean.
Nick Woltemade drops to the bench, alongside Jacob Ramsey and Aaron Ramsdale.
Tino Livramento, Anthony Elanga, Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn, William Osula, Sven Botman and Emil Krafth all remain injured.
Newcastle United XI vs Burnley: Pope; Miley, Thiaw, Schar, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Barnes, Wissa, Gordon
Subs: Ramsdale, J. Murphy, Woltemade, Willock, A. Murphy, Ramsey, Shahar, Neave, Alabi
