Eddie Howe has confirmed that Yoane Wissa is back in training for Newcastle United.
The 29-year-old is yet to make his Newcastle United debut, having suffered a knee injury almost immediately after his £55milion arrival from Brentford.
But it was reported on Thursday that Wissa has started training with his Newcastle United teammates for the first time since joining the club, much to the delight of the Toon Army.
Eddie Howe has now confirmed that story, but is unable to share when he expects the Magpies’ number nine to make his debut.
“Yoane’s going well and trained with us for the first time on Wednesday when we came back from Marseille,” he said during his pre-match press conference.
“I was really pleased with how he looked. It was his first time with the group competitively. Let’s see how he responds. Hopefully he trains today and we’ll continue to build him up.
“We have got a date in mind [for his debut] but we will keep that to ourselves. I don’t want to disappoint anybody. We want to involve him as soon as possible, but we want him to be able to perform.”

When Yoane Wissa could make his Newcastle United debut
Having only just started training with his teammates, Yoane Wissa is not expected to feature when Newcastle face Everton on Saturday.
While Howe wants to keep Wissa’s provisional return date to himself, it has been reported by the Daily Mail when the forward could finally be involved.
They report that he could be fit enough to feature in the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland, with the Magpies heading to the Stadium of Light on 14th December.
That would be quite the stage for the DR Congo international, who could immediately become a Toon icon by scoring in the derby. It has been reported that Wissa wants to repay the faith Newcastle have put in him, and he would certainly do that if he can help the Magpies achieve victory against Sunderland.
