Eddie Howe has made some changes to his Newcastle United side for Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Leeds.
Given the tight turnaround in fixtures following Sunday’s win over Crystal Palace, Howe has rotated his options.
Wednesday’s game gives Newcastle United another great platform upon which to build, too.
While Leeds have improved in recent weeks, it’s still a home game against a team Newcastle would expect to beat.
A victory would make it three on the spin for Newcastle, who haven’t achieved that feat in the Premier League this season.
Newcastle United confirmed lineup vs Leeds
The major change sees Nick Woltemade return in place of Yoane Wissa, who drops to the bench.
Lewis Miley keeps his place at right back despite Tino Livramento and Kieran Trippier returning to the squad.
Harvey Barnes operates on the right of the attacking line, with Anthony Gordon on the left.
It’s the usual midfield three of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton, too.
Two changes 👀 Big call on Lewis Miley – is he now our best RB?!
Nick Pope is in goal, with Lewis Hall at left back. Malick Thiaw and Fabian Schar are the central defenders, with Sven Botman on the bench.
Anthony Elanga, William Osula, Dan Burn and Emil Krafth are all injured for Newcastle.
Newcastle United confirmed XI vs Leeds: Pope; Miley, Thiaw, Schar, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Barnes, Woltemade, Gordon
Subs: Ramsdale, Trippier, Botman, Wissa, Livramento, J. Murphy, Willock, A. Murphy, Ramsey
