Newcastle United ended their away day curse this season in emphatic fashion with a 4-1 win over Everton.

After so many troubles on the road this season, Newcastle United made light work of the Toffees on their first-ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

First half goals from Malick Thiaw, Lewis Miley and Nick Woltemade set Eddie Howe‘s side on their way to their most convincing win yet this season.

Thiaw scored again in the first half before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall responded with a consolation.

This is how Geordie Boot Boys rated the players…

Who was your MOTM against Everton?! So many to choose from, let us know your thoughts…

Aaron Ramsdale

There had been so much talk about Ramsdale before the game but, in truth, he had little to do here. Solid when called upon and couldn’t do much about the goal.

Tino Livramento – 9

Was heavily involved throughout and stepped into midfield really well. Having Livramento back available makes such a huge difference to this side. What a performance. Transformed the team against Manchester City last weekend and that continued here.

Malick Thiaw – 8

Thiaw scored a fine header early on to make life much easier for Newcastle. Didn’t need to get involved too much defensively and bagged another one in the second half.

Dan Burn – 8

For all the questions about him at left-back, Burn was brilliant when restored to central defence. Sven Botman faces a long way back into the starting lineup now.

Lewis Hall – 8

Absolutely brilliant cross for Thiaw’s second goal and was unlucky not to score in the first half. Another excellent display from Hall.

Bruno Guimaraes – 7

Much better than his last few away performances. Rarely troubled in the middle of the park. Guimaraes looked at ease here.

Lewis Miley – 9

Set the tone with a brilliant corner in the opening minute to tee up Thiaw’s goal before scoring himself. Granted, Miley got somewhat lucky with Pickford’s howler but his performance on the whole was brilliant.

Joelinton – 7

His best performance in a while. Much better on the ball here. The Joelinton of old!

Anthony Elanga – 7

Brilliant to see Elanga get his first assist for Newcastle, while it was his shot that helped set up the first goal.

May not fully convince yet but certainly signs things are going in the right direction.

A first assist for Anthony Elanga! And how about that finish from Nick Woltemade?

Can Elanga kick on now? Surely been his best performance yet?

Nick Woltemade – 8

Hold up play looked much better from the first minute and how about that goal?! Absolutely brilliant and was unlucky to have seen another chance blocked on the line.

Harvey Barnes – 7

Not at his brilliant best but still did enough to keep his starting berth.

Joe Willock – 6
