Yoane Wissa’s return to Newcastle United training has delighted supporters on social media.
Excitingly, Wissa has trained with his Newcastle United teammates for the first time since joining the club from Brentford in September.
Indeed, Wissa’s freak knee injury has derailed the opening few months of his career on Tyneside following a £50million move from Brentford.
Comment with how many goals you think Yoane Wissa will actually score for Newcastle United this season….
The DR Congo international is unlikely to be rushed back given the extent of his absence but this feels like a step in the right direction and supporters are delighted.
Newcastle United fans buzzing that Yoane Wissa is edging closer to a return
Naturally, the news has been met with delight on social media platform X.
Though there’s still a long way to go with Wissa, the fact he’s been involved in training alongside his teammates is a major step forward.
Hopefully, there are no further setbacks and the forward continues in his recovery ahead of making a return later this month.
“Great news, this should take the load off Nick [Woltemade]”, wrote one fan.
Another added: “Great news.”
One fan predicted: “Wissa to be ready for the derby….surely the script is written!”
How many games Yoane Wissa missed through injury during his entire Brentford career. How much of a difference could he have made?
“Positive news re Wissa at last. Imagine the scenes IF he was on the bench for Everton or maybe Spurs next week,” said one supporter.
“I am alive”, was another comment.
“My money on Wissa getting the winner [vs Sunderland]!! Instant hero status,” said another.
How many game-winning goals Yoane Wissa has scored during his career
Expecting Wissa to answer every single one of Newcastle’s problems feels unwise.
Still, this is a player who can decide games on his own. Over the course of his career, he’s scored 28 game-winning goals and 11 of those have come in the Premier League.
Such goalscoring instincts will help this Newcastle team. Nick Woltemade can only do so much, after all.
Only three teams have scored fewer Premier League goals this season than Newcastle (13).

Having Wissa back, whenever that may be, should help lift some pressure.
Eddie Howe pushed hard for Newcastle to sign Wissa and he really needs the forward to hit the ground running whenever he is fully fit.
Much has been made about the lack of success from most of Newcastle’s summer signings thus far.
Wissa cannot afford to join the likes of Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey in struggling.
