Liverpool want Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan to sanction a deal for Alexander Isak, as they aim to snap up the Magpies’ superstar striker.
Newcastle United have finally received some official interest in Alexander Isak, after months of speculation over a move to Liverpool.
Geordie Boot Boys understand that Liverpool have approached Newcastle about signing Isak, with the 25-year-old considered to be the Reds’ dream signing.
However, a bid has not been submitted. It has been reported that Newcastle think Liverpool are trying to unsettle Isak, at a time when the Magpies are trying to sign Hugo Ekitike to play alongside him.

What Yasir Al-Rumayyan has already told Newcastle United to do with Alexander Isak
Whatever Liverpool’s plan is, Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan made it clear a long time ago what he wants to happen with Isak.
One day after Newcastle United beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, the PIF chief’s stance regarding Isak became extremely apparent.
It was reported by the Daily Mail on 17th March that Al-Rumayyan has told Newcastle United that they absolutely must not sell Isak this summer.
The report stated that Isak, who scored in the Carabao Cup final, is Al-Rumayyan’s favourite Toon player and that he is adamant about the Swedish striker staying at St James’ Park.
Given the fact that every decision at Newcastle United is rubberstamped by PIF, it is almost impossible to envision Al-Rumayyan going back on his defiant Isak stance.
What PIF chief must do with Alexander Isak after Liverpool approach
If Al-Rumayyan is so enamoured with Isak then it is clear what he must do next.
Newcastle United want Isak to extend his contract, with the club willing to make him their highest-paid player.
They must offer Isak what he is worth as one of the world’s best strikers and a player who is admired by the biggest clubs in the land. Otherwise, there will come a time when he seeks a move away.
Newcastle are in a strong position. Isak has a contract until 2028, which protects his value. However, there has to be an acceptance that he could earn a lot more money elsewhere.
Al-Rumayyan can change that, and he can make his Isak stance a lot easier for the club to adhere to by greenlighting a bumper new deal.
