Newcastle United duo Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are facing a battle to be included in England’s World Cup squad.
Newcastle United players have been in international action over the last week,
Nick Woltemade has been in fine form for Germany, while Anthony Elanga enjoyed playing on the left flank for Sweden.
Two Magpies stars who have not been involved are Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall.
Livramento is on his way back from injury, while Hall is only just back from the treatment table himself.
Thomas Tuchel plans talks with Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall
Livramento and Hall are two of the top English full-backs around, and they have been involved for the Three Lions in recent times.
Livramento has picked up three England caps, while Hall was capped twice in 2024.
Injury concerns saw them miss out on England’s wins over Serbia and Albania, but they remain in Thomas Tuchel’s thoughts.
iNews report that Tuchel will speak to Livramento and Hall as part of his plans to contact around 60 players on the fringes of the England squad.
“It’s my job now to make contact with everyone, players like Trent,” said Tuchel.
“Players that are on our long list, 55, 60 players, to reach out to them, be in touch with them, explain to them why they were not here. Explain to them what they have to do, where they can improve. Can they even do something or is it just a choice?” he added.
Tuchel has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, and there is a strong chance that Livramento and Hall miss out.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall face England battle
England went with Reece James and Jarell Quansah as right-backs in this international break.
Djed Spence can also play at right-back, while Trent Alexander-Arnold will hope for a recall in 2026.
Livramento faces huge competition for places at right-back, and his recent injury lay-off may have come at the worst possible time.
On the left side, Manchester City’s Nico O’Reilly has emerged as a starting option for Tuchel.
Spence and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly have also played there under Tuchel, so Hall must attempt to push himself ahead of those players.
Livramento and Hall are certainly good enough to start for England when at their best, but they need to find top form quickly as the World Cup moves closer.
