Lewis Hall’s performance for Newcastle United against Manchester United had Chelsea fans regretting the fact they sold him.

Back in 2023, Newcastle United signed Hall from Chelsea on what was an initial loan deal. It became a permanent arrangement for what could eventually reach £35million.

While the defender struggled during his first season at Newcastle United, Hall has since become a key player.

In fact, he’s arguably their standout star right now.

Hall was brilliant during Newcastle’s loss to Manchester United on Boxing Day and hit the bar with a fine effort from range.

On current form, he looks like a shoo-in for the England squad for next summer’s World Cup.

Having watched him strut his stuff at Old Trafford, Blues fans on social media were all saying the same thing.

Chelsea fans gutted they sold Lewis Hall to Newcastle United

Plenty of Chelsea fans online were lamenting the fact the club cashed in on him.

While Enzo Maresca’s side boast one of the better left backs in the Premier League in Marc Cucurella, they had to go out and buy him.

Hall, meanwhile, was created in their academy and would not have set the club back millions in terms of a transfer fee.

Of his performance against the Red Devils, this Chelsea fan said: “Lewis Hall another elite Cobham talent. Pain.”

Another added: “He would have fitted into [the] Maresca style easily.”

“The painful thing about Lewis Hall was that he put no foot wrong during his time at the club, why he was sold I will never understand,” was another comment.

One supporter said: “He is a baller, can’t lie.”

“Not appreciated enough,” was another claim.

Finally, one Chelsea fan said: “Never wanted him to go.”

How much would Lewis Hall be worth in the transfer market? 👀

Lewis Hall had 100 touches against Manchester United

Hall was brilliant at Old Trafford, even if the rest of his teammates let him down.

The 21-year-old amassed a stunning 100 touches, created one chance, had three shots and won 13 of his duels.

It was another fine display from a player Newcastle simply cannot do without.

Without Hall in the side, Newcastle tend to struggle. He has a transformative impact on the system and is arguably now Eddie Howe’s most important player.

Indeed, Hall is one of Newcastle’s best players and the idea of him getting injured again sparks serious concern.
