Chris Sutton does not have any confidence in Newcastle United ahead of their game against Everton.
That feels strange given Newcastle United beat Manchester City last Saturday, but the reality is the Magpies’ away form is dreadful.
That continued on Tuesday night when Newcastle lost to Marseille, throwing away a one-goal lead for the third away game in a row. Nick Pope’s error cost his side, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged a match-winning brace.
Eddie Howe needs a response from his players, but this time it needs to come away from St James’ Park. In the eyes of Chris Sutton, he’s not going to get that response.

Chris Sutton simply cannot back Newcastle United to beat Everton
Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of Saturday evening’s game between Everton and Newcastle United, Sutton has been full of praise for David Moyes’ side.
He was impressed with how they played against Manchester United on Monday, and expects them to put another point on the board when Newcastle arrive at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
As for the Magpies, their away form means Sutton simply cannot justify backing them to be victorious.
“Apart from Everton’s centre-forward not scoring, one of the few other things that has been consistent since the season started is Newcastle’s away form, in that it is really poor and they haven’t won in the league since April,” he said.
“Still, when it comes to predictions, with the quality they have got in their team, I am always left thinking, ‘will it change this week?’
“They will have their moments against Everton, but I am not looking at this game and thinking they will go there and win. Instead, I am going to sit on the fence.”
Sutton’s prediction: Everton 1 Newcastle United 1.

Key players set to miss Everton vs Newcastle United
Everton do have an issue in midfield ahead of Saturday’s game on Merseyside.
Idrissa Gueye is suspended for Everton, having been sent off against Manchester United following an altercation with his own teammate Michael Keane. It was a ludicrous situation, which will result in him sitting out the clash with Eddie Howe’s team.
Newcastle United match-goers, what are you most excited about for your first ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium?
The Senegal international has been a mainstay for David Moyes’s side this season, starting all 12 of their Premier League games.
As for Newcastle United, Kieran Trippier remains injured. He has missed their previous two games, and there are now fears he could be absent beyond the Tyne-Wear derby on 14th December.
Elsewhere, Yoane Wissa is back in Newcastle training but is not expected to make his Toon debut versus the Toffees.
