Newcastle United will do their best to not be bullied over Tino Livramento’s future.
Livramento is arguably Newcastle United’s standout player these days, following the sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
Clearly, the Newcastle United squad is dripping with quality, but few players are likely to be as in-demand as the England international.
Arsenal are the latest club interested in Livramento, while Geordie Boot Boys understand that Manchester City have previously tried to sign him.
Manchester United have also been linked with Livramento, so it’s fair to say he’s a tempting target for many of England’s top clubs.
Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall need help!
The 23-year-old is under contract until the summer of 2028 but if the Isak saga taught the club anything, it’s that having three years left on a deal is not a guarantee of much.
Obviously, there is absolutely no suggestion that Livramento would act anything like Isak did.
Still, he’s a player almost certain to attract interest during a transfer window. Thankfully, sporting director Ross Wilson has set out his stall over Livramento.
Ross Wilson confirms Newcastle United aim to keep Tino Livramento and Sven Botman
Speaking at a fan event earlier this week, from which fresh quotes have now emerged, Wilson confirmed the club were in ongoing talks with both Livramento and Sven Botman over new deals.
Botman’s situation is perhaps more pressing, given he is out of contract in 2027.
Either way, Wilson has confirmed that the desire is to keep both of them at St James’ Park beyond the extent of their current deals.
Ross Wilson is already in talks with Tino Livramento and Sven Botman 😍
Do you see both signing new contracts? Be honest, as we've been burned before…
How Tino Livramento feels about staying at Newcastle United
Livramento has confirmed he’s happy at Newcastle United, having felt the love of supporters.
That does not mean a move away wouldn’t tempt him, and the only one to almost ensure he stays at the club is a new and improved contract.
It’s promising to hear that he’s happy on Tyneside but the club must do their part too.
Livramento has come on leaps and bounds since he arrived from Southampton in 2023 but hasn’t yet been rewarded with a fresh deal.
That simply has to happen to keep him, or any player of his stature, happy.
The same can be said of Botman, although the Dutch defender surely has to prove his fitness before anyone can think of him as back to his absolute best.
