Nick Woltemade has enjoyed a great start to his Newcastle United career, but it could be about to get even better.
The 23-year-old has scored seven goals for Newcastle United so far, with his best arguably coming on Saturday. Nick Woltemade’s lob against Everton was ridiculously good, once again re-emphasising what a unique striker the Magpies have bought.
Ever since his £69million arrival at St James’ Park, it has been clear that Nick Woltemade needs another striker to rely on. He needs someone to dovetail with, while he is also ideally suited to having a partner up front given his creative tendencies.
That dream will soon become reality, as Yoane Wissa could make his debut against Burnley on Saturday. The 29-year-old is hoping to be on the bench, as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

How much has Yoane Wissa endeared himself to Newcastle United fans already?!
Nick Woltemade is ‘really excited’ to play with Yoane Wissa at Newcastle United
That is particularly brilliant news for Woltemade, who has spoken openly about how excited he is to have Wissa as part of the Newcastle United squad.
Woltemade spoke about Wissa during the recent international break, admitting he thinks the duo could strike up quite the partnership on Tyneside.
“I’m also really happy if Wissa is coming back,” he said.
“I think we can also play really good together maybe and I think then the situation for sometimes you don’t feel so good in the game then maybe some other striker can come in and help each other together so we get more power.
“I’m really excited for the guys [Wissa and Will Osula] to come back.”

While Will Osula remains injured, Wissa is suddenly not far away from being available. And to make matters even better, he is not far away from being available for the foreseeable future. That is because Wissa is not going to the Africa Cup of Nations, having not been selected by DR Congo.
How Yoane Wissa feels about playing with Nick Woltemade
Woltemade is excited to play alongside Wissa, and the feeling is certainly mutual.
The former Brentford star spoke about Woltemade shortly after his arrival at St James’ Park, admitting he wants as much competition as possible as it gives the team a better chance of being successful.
Wissa and Woltemade should play up front TOGETHER – agree or disagree?
“I think he is a good player who is able to play anywhere because he’s very skilful,” Wissa said about Woltemade in September.
“When you come to a big club, there is always competition and we need to be able to push each other and make sure we are in the best position as a team. We want to achieve success as a team.
“It’s not about individual players. I’m happy to have another player joining the club as we have more chance of winning.”
That view will be shared by Eddie Howe, who has not had the luxury of having two senior strikers he can rely on all season.
That is about to change, much to the delight of everyone associated with Newcastle United.
