Clubs such as Villa, Forest and Palace found themselves boosted due to their European matches on Thursday night’s ensuring Premier League games had to be moved from the Saturday.
Last season saw a vast expansion of the number of live Premier League matches shown in the UK and every game that wasn’t played 3pm on a Saturday was guaranteed to be broadcast live.
The Athletic have reported on what exactly this meant in terms of hard cash.
The facility fees (purely down to getting selected for live TV in the UK) part of the overall Premier League cash payouts seeing Man U banking £23.9 at the top end, Burnley only £10.7m at the very bottom.
Newcastle United estimated to have banked £20.5m from their facility fees, while Sunderland banking £15.6m.
