Hoffenheim have given their official reaction to Bazoumana Toure joining Newcastle United.
The German club losing their up and coming star player to Eddie Howe’s NUFC.

No transfer fee figure made public.
However, Hoffenheim do state that it is a new club record, surpassing the £40m Newcastle United paid for Joelinton in 2019.
Ahead of today’s confirmation by both Newcastle United and Hoffenheim of the winger moving clubs, there had been widespread reporting that the deal was around £43m.
The Hoffenheim official statement starting: ‘Bazoumana Toure is leaving Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and joining Newcastle United in the English Premier League. The speedy winger will play in northern England for a Hoffenheim record transfer fee. He conquered the Bundesliga in the truest sense of the word: Bazoumana Toure made his mark in Hoffenheim in just a year and a half, and now the highly talented winger is moving to Newcastle United. The Premier League club is paying a record transfer fee in TSG Hoffenheim’s history for the 20-year-old…Toure replaces Brazilian Joelinton as Hoffenheim’s record transfer, who also moved from TSG to Newcastle United in the summer of 2019.’
Andreas Schicker, Sporting Director at TSG Hoffenheim: “Since joining from Sweden in February 2025, Bazou has undergone an extraordinary development – a fact largely attributable to the coaching team led by Chris Ilzer. His performances were instrumental in the second-best season in the club’s history. Of course, we would have loved to keep Bazou with us. However, it is in line with TSG’s DNA and our chosen path to sign highly talented players and, together with our coaching team, to develop them systematically and enable them to make the step up to elite clubs. We sincerely wish Bazou all the best and much success for his future endeavours and the challenge in the Premier League.”
The official Hoffenheim statement going on to say: ‘Bazoumana Toure joined TSG Hoffenheim from Swedish first division club Hammarby IF in February 2025, making a total of 43 Bundesliga appearances (five goals and 15 assists) and two DFB Cup appearances. Last season, he played in 30 Bundesliga matches and two DFB Cup games. Within the club, he finished third in scoring (five goals and twelve assists) with 17 scorer points (five goals and twelve assists), behind Andrej Kramarić and Fisnik Asllani. His performances last season not only earned the Ivorian his national team debut, but also participation in the Africa Cup of Nations and the currently ongoing World Cup. Bazoumana Touré has made nine appearances for Ivory Coast so far, scoring two goals.’
The player himself also talking to the official Hoffenheim media.
Bazoumana Toure saying: “TSG was like a family to me. We experienced a wonderful and successful time together, during which I was able to develop as a player and as a person. I thank my teammates and coaches, but also every single person at the club and the fans from the bottom of my heart. I’m looking forward to the challenge of the Premier League, but TSG will always hold a special place in my heart.”
