Over in Spain, the media have revealed when Barcelona plan to officially unveil Anthony Gordon as their latest signing.
Marca report that ‘Barring any last-minute changes’ will sign for Barcelona at the Camp Nou at 1pm local time (12 noon UK time).
They add that the plan is then for Anthony Gordon to be presented to the media at 1.30pm local time (12.30pm UK time).
(However, the signing and press conference have been repeatedly put back due to claimed delays with paperwork, the latest reported estimate is that 6pm (UK time) on Friday could see something official announced)
The Spanish media outlet stating that the Newcastle United winger will sign a five-year contract with Barcelona.
Marca adding: ‘Gordon will thus become Barcelona ‘s first signing for the 2026-27 season. Deco travelled to London earlier this week and finalised the deal. The player arrived in Barcelona yesterday, Thursday , to undergo a medical examination and had dinner with the sporting director that evening.’
They are on a tight schedule as the 25-year-old is set to fly off with England on Monday (1 June).
