By the end of Wednesday night we will know the identity of all of the final 16 clubs in the Champions League.
Twelve clubs have already progressed.
First of all, eight spots filled in the Champions League last 16, having finished in the top eight places of the 36 club Swiss League stage.
Those eight were Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and Manchester City.
The remaining eight to join them, decided by the play-off round of ties.
Four more clubs on Tuesday night progressed through to the Champions League last 16, via the play-offs:
Atletico Madrid 4 Club Brugge 1 (Atletico Madrid progress 7-4 on aggregate)
Bayer Leverkusen 0 Olympiakos 0 (Bayer Leverkusen progress 2-0 on aggregate)
Inter Milan 1 Bodo/Glimt 2 (Bodo/Glimt progress 5-2 on aggregate)
Newcastle United 3 Qarabag 2 (Newcastle United progress 9-3 on aggregate)

So the 12 who have now qualified for the Champions League last 16 are Newcastle United, Bayer Leverkusen, Bodo/Glimt, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Spurs, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and Manchester City.
Champions League play-off matches tonight (Wednesday) to decide the final four (scores from the first leg games in brackets):
Atalanta (0) v Borussia Dortmund (2) at 5.45pm
Juventus (2) v Galatasaray (5) at 8pm
PSG (3) v Monaco (2) at 8pm
Real Madrid (1) v Benfica (0) at 8pm
The UEFA Champions League round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals draws, will be held on Friday 27 February 2026.
The draw(s) will be held at the UEFA House of Football in Nyon at 11am (UK time) this Friday.
Newcastle United can only be drawn in the last 16 round of matches against either Barcelona or Chelsea.
The dates of when the remaining Champions League rounds will be played, are listed below:
Round of 16: 10/11 and 17/18 March 2026
Quarter-finals: 7/8 and 14/15 April 2026
Semi-finals: 28/29 April and 5/6 May 2026
