Nick Woltemade is now set to sign for Juventus on deadline day.
Sky Germany (and others in the media) reporting that the Newcastle United striker is taking his medical in Turin before then getting announced as the Serie A club’s new signing.
It is widely reported as a loan deal that has been agreed between Juventus and United, with Newcastle United banking a £3.5m loan fee (reported as a straight loan with no obligation to buy).
The fact that this also means the Germany international’s wages will be paid by another club for this season, makes this a far from insignificant deal when it comes to balancing the finances, especially with the UEFA SCR situation that Newcastle United face.
Nick Woltemade flying to Turin swiftly follows the arrival on Monday night of Matias Fernandez-Pardo at Newcastle Airport, the 21-year-old striker with rapid pace who is signing in a reported £55m deal from Lille.
Juventus needed another attacking option after Jonathan David moved on loan to Atletico Madrid.
The Turin-based club have started the season with a maximum six points from their opening two Serie A matches.
