Don Hutchison has been talking about Phil Foden and what he will do next.

With the likes of Doku, Semenyo and Cherki, a lot of other options for Pep Guardiola when it comes to positions on the pitch where Phil Foden could be expected to potentially play, if selected.

The Manchester City star turns 26 this month and will no doubt be considering his own options.

No longer an automatic first choice at the Etihad, most definitely not for England.

Will Phil Foden stick or twist and if he does, which club would he likely go to?

Lifelong United fan Don Hutchison pondering the issue and coming up with one suggested club, though with a warning: “If Newcastle United come in [for Phil Foden]…they are going to have to pay a lot of money for him.”

Phil Foden is obviously still a very talented player but his biggest weakness, in my opinion, is a lack of pace. Especially when compared to some of his rivals to get into the Man City team now.

Phil Foden recently signed a new four year contract with Manchester City.

That doesn’t necessarily mean he will be staying of course. This happens all the time. Whereby a valuable player gets more money in an enhanced new contract and for the club they protect their asset, ensuring no contract pressure that could see them forced to sell at far less than the real market value.

Don Hutchison asked by BestBettingSites: “Does Phil Foden need to consider leaving Man City this summer?”

The former Liverpool and Sunderland player replying: “I think that’s the right move for the club. Being a Man City fan and being a brilliant player. For Phil Foden, it’s a question because, all right, you’re staying at Man City where you’re comfortable and you know the manager and you know the setup and it’s your team—but surely you want to go and play. So maybe he signed that four-year contract with the thought process: “Right, next year is the big year. Next year, off the back of a World Cup, I’ve got to try and get back into Man City’s starting 11.”

A reality check as well though for the Manchester City player.

With Don Hutchison pointing out: “But the thing is, when you go, “Right, where’s he going to play?” It’s not going to be in Doku’s position, it’s not going to be in Semenyo’s position, and on current form, it’s not going to be in Cherki’s position. His thought process has to be: “Right, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got for one year to play for Man City. If I’m not playing, then I’m going to move.”
