Nick Woltemade made a deadline day move to Juventus.
Newcastle United announcing that the striker would spend the rest of the 2026/27 season on loan with the Serie A club.
The Germany international moving out, at least temporarily anyway, as at the same time Matias Fernandez-Pardo arrived as United’s eighth and final major signing of this summer 2026 Newcastle United transfer window.
A very busy summer for Newcastle United with 17 players moving out, either sold or leaving on loan.
In the modern game, the loan fees involved and the wages saved can be considerable.
As usual, Newcastle United mentioned none of the financial details involved in the Nick Woltemade loan move.
However, Juventus are a publicly listed company and that means they have been duty bound to release an official confirmation of the sums of money involved in the loan deal for Big Nick.
As well as covering his wages for the season, Juventus confirming the following three parts to the financial side of the loan:
Loan fee of €2.8m (approx £2.4m)
Ancillary costs of €0.8m (approx £0.7m)
An amount not exceeding €0.5m (approx £0.4m) upon the achievement of certain sporting objectives.
It has also been confirmed that it is a straight loan with no option or obligation to buy.
The loan deal at Juventus will end on 30 June 2027, so Juventus paying Big Nick’s wages up to that point.
