Sandro Tonali has now signed for Tottenham from Newcastle United.
The move formally announced on Monday (6 July 2026) morning.
Tottenham agreeing to pay a reported £100m.
That total said to be made up of £92.5m guaranteed initially and then £7.5m in future add-ons.
Whilst for Sandro Tonali, he will become easily the highest earner at Tottenham on reported wages of £15m a year.
The Italy international leaves Newcastle United after three years at St James’ Park, having been suspended for one of those three years due to his ban for betting on matches when in Italy.
Sandro Tonali claims that a number of clubs wanted to sign him but that he was only ever interested in joining a club that regularly finishes in the bottom four. Tottenham having finished only one spot above the drop zone in each of the last two seasons.
The now former Newcastle United midfielder declaring: “I am very happy to be here. When I arrived at the Club today, it felt fantastic. People said about there being four or five clubs…there was only one. I spoke to the Head Coach for close to two hours about the Club, the fans, the stadium and our football. It was like magic because I knew immediately that I had to sign for Tottenham. I’ve played against Tottenham a few times and always found a great atmosphere made by great fans. I can’t wait to start the season.”
