Eddie Howe confirming on Friday morning that ahead of the 2026/27 pre-season will start on Monday 13 July.
The Newcastle United boss also revealing that the NUFC squad will be heading to La Manga this summer.
Eddie Howe on Sunday’s match:
“We hope to continue the upturn in our recent performances, upturn in our in-possession play, we want to end the season high, it is an important match for us.”
Eddie Howe on the 3-1 win over West Ham last Sunday:
“It was great to win our last home game. That left us all with a great feeling. We want to end the season on a real high.”
Eddie Howe on the potential of William Osula:
“He is at a really good age, lots of things to continue to work on, there are lots of untapped areas we can develop.
“The ceiling in his development is really high. He has the raw ingredients, the physical profile too.”
Eddie Howe asked about Sandro Tonali who was forced off against West Ham due to injury:
“Sandro, potentially, will be available. We will look at him again today. We don’t think it is anything serious.”
(It looks like Newcastle United will have at least five players missing on Sunday – Miley, Livramento, Krafth, Schar and Joelinton. Then this doubt with Tonali as well.)
Eddie Howe confirming that Fabian Schar has been offered a new contract and hopes there can be agreement reached for him to stay next season:
“We have spoken to Fabian and his agent and we are hoping for a successful outcome. We want him to stay, he’s been unbelievable for us.”
