Amar Dedić has agreed to join Newcastle United.
Media in Bosnia and Herzegovina report that the right-back is set to move to Tyneside and the two clubs are now negotiating the final transfer fee.
The first reports of Newcastle United interest came on Wednesday.
Set to turn 24 on Tuesday, Amar Dedić was born in Austria but already has over 30 senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, including playing for them at this summer’s World Cup.
Bosnia media sees SportSport report that their information is that the right side defender has already said yes to a move to United and that Benfica are willing to sell.
They state that Benfica are looking for €33m (approx £28.2m) and that Newcastle United are looking to pay €25m (£21.4m), with a compromise transfer fee likely to be around €30m (£25.6m).
SportSport report that talks are currently happening to reach agreement between the two clubs.
They add that their understanding is that the deal is expected to be agreed very quickly and Amar Dedić to then head to Tyneside for his medical.
Amar Dedić has played 44 matches for Benfica since joining last summer, scoring one goal and getting five assists.
It is no secret that Newcastle United are looking to strengthen the right-back positions with Trippier and Krafth leaving.
Amar Dedic joined RB Salzburg at the age of 12 and later played under new Newcastle United boss Matthias Jaissle.
