Newcastle United midfielder Joe White has signed for Crewe Alexandra.
An official club announcement on Thursday morning revealing the news.
Newcastle United beginning their official statement: ‘Midfielder Joe White has completed a permanent transfer to League Two side Crewe Alexandra. White, who joined the club’s Academy in 2016, spent last season on loan in League One with spells at Leyton Orient and Bradford City.’
The club going on to say: ‘The 23-year-old previously spent the first half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Crewe, scoring three goals in 20 appearances, before returning to Newcastle and making his first-team debut for the Magpies in a 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth later that season. While progressing through the youth ranks at United, he also enjoyed loan spells with Hartlepool United, Exeter City and MK Dons. He will now join Lee Bell’s side, who finished 11th in League Two last season. Everybody at Newcastle United would like to wish Joe well for the future.’
I am pleased Joe White has got fixed up elsewhere and can hopefully now get on properly with his career. Regular first team football at a club where he is a permanent signing.
It must be a wrench to give up your Newcastle United dream but this feels like a good move for all parties.
