Newcastle 3 Brighton 1 – Saturday 2 May 2026 3pm

The photo that Newcastle United fans had all wanted to see on Saturday night!

Eddie Howe leading his team to a massive win over Brighton.

The best things in life are worth waiting for…

A really gutsy performance and in the end a deserved victor despite some nervous moments.

A winning snapshot post-match.

The all important winning photo =  The twenty-third of the season.

It is actually the 24th victory of the season but they didn’t have a dressing room winning photo after Qarabag away, as the play-off tie was only halfway through.

The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.

‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc’

I absolutely love it.

Exactly seven weeks since the last winning photo, which came after the 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

The last one at St James’ Park was when NUFC won with just ten men against Man U, over eight weeks ago.

Three more games to go this season, so hopefully at least one or two more of these photos to come.
