Newcastle United have now had an opening offer for Lucas Bergvall rejected.

David Ornstein revealing that United put in a bid of around £46m for the Sweden international.
However, the man from The Athletic saying that this initial bid has been knocked back by Tottenham.
Ornstein says that Tottenham will be prepared to sell the 20-year-old this summer if a club meets their valuation but that whilst Newcastle United have offered more than previous Nottingham Forest bids, NUFC still haven’t offered enough to satisfy Spurs.
Lucas Bergvall has five years left on his Tottenham contract but The Athletic say their sources have told them that the midfielder has told the club he wants to leave this summer.
Lucas Bergvall has made 78 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club in a £8.5m deal from Swedish side Djurgarden in 2024. This includes 33 appearances for Spurs in all competitions last season.
In January, Bergvall had surgery after sustaining a high sprain on his left ankle and was sidelined until March.
The Tottenham midfielder played in four of Sweden’s matches this summer at the World Cup.
