How do you see the final 2026/27 Premier League table ending up?
Just the five rounds of league matches played up this point as we are now into an international break but we have seen so many intriguing results and performances already.
Can early season results be seen as a reliable guide to what we can expect across the eight months?
Only time will tell.
However, I think certain conclusions can definitely be drawn from what we have witnessed, so I am pretty confident that a lot of my guesstimates will prove around about the right positions.
My predicted final 2026/27 Premier League table:
Man City
Arsenal
Brighton
Brentford
Liverpool
Leeds
Chelsea
Newcastle United
Aston Villa
Bournemouth
Man U
Forest
Everton
Sunderland
Crystal Palace
Hull
Fulham
Tottenham
Ipswich
Coventry
I struggle to see any other teams apart from Man City and Arsenal getting into the title race.
The closest to them will be Brighton in my opinion. Their recruitment continues to be very good and I think they should have made the Champions League last season. Which they were actually on course for until they lost three of their final 2025/26 EPL matches and that late collapse starting with a 3-1 defeat at St James’ Park.
No doubt a fair few of you will be laughing at Brentford finishing top four. Last season they were well on course to do so until winning only two of their final 13 Premier League matches. The Bees ended up only seven points off a Champions League place and this season so far they are proving that to be no fluke, with no European football distractions I think they can sustain their form further across the season and only some key injuries might stop them.
I have Liverpool in fifth but not because I think they will be that good. More a case of history telling you that no matter how bad they are the scousers end up fluking a position somewhere towards the top.
I don’t think there will be a lot in it amongst many teams and real opportunities for so many clubs to have good seasons.
At the other end of the Premier League table I think there are maybe half a dozen contenders for the drop and as well as promoted Ipswich and Coventry going straight back down, I think Tottenham will make it third time unlucky. Finishing fourth bottom the last two seasons, they have looked woeful so far this time. The ‘experts’ assuming that because of their ridiculously huge net spend they will automatically be safe….hmmm…that isn’t what we are seeing on the pitch and the Spurs fans already on their backs and the chancer that is Roberto de Zerbi will surely be gone soon, leaving an absolute mess behind of fortunes paid for players who clearly aren’t committed.
