Four Newcastle United friendlies have been announced on Thursday morning.
A trio of pre-season games will be played in England before then the Newcastle United squad head to Spain for a week-long training camp, which culminates in a friendly fixture against Valencia.
The official Newcastle United release confirming: ‘The Magpies squad will report for pre-season training at The KNOX on Monday 13th July and end the first week back with a behind-closed-doors friendly against National League North side Darlington. United will face local opposition again the following weekend, travelling across the Tyne to take on National League outfit Gateshead in a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday 25th July.’
The third of the domestic friendlies then sees a trip to the south-west.
Newcastle United adding: ‘Championship side Bristol City will host a midweek friendly on Wednesday 29th July, kicking-off at 7.30pm, before the Magpies head to south-east Spain later that week to step up their preparations for the new campaign.’
Then two weeks before the Premier League season kicks off against Liverpool: ‘The Spanish camp will be wrapped up with a visit to the iconic Mestalla Stadium (photo at top shows Atletico Madrid fans in safe standing area away at Valencia). La Liga giants Valencia will provide the test on Saturday 8th August, with kick-off at 9pm local time (8pm BST) in their annual Trofeu Taronja (Orange Cup) game.’
Then after flying back to the UK: ‘The previously announced friendly with Everton takes place at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on Wednesday 12th August (5.15pm kick-off). Plans for the final weekend of pre-season at St. James’ Park will be confirmed in due course.’

Tickets will be sold directly via Gateshead FC.
Seating will be unsegregated but Newcastle United supporters have been allocated the East and South Stand.
Adults (aged 18-64): £25
Concession (65+ and students): £20
Young Adult (16-17 years) – £15
Young Adult (14-15 years) – £10
Child (Under 14) – £5*
Carer – Free**
*Child tickets can only be purchased with an adult or concession ticket and cannot be purchased separately.
**Carers are limited to one carer ticket per paid ticket and can be added alongside the paid ticket at checkout.
This will be an all-ticket fixture, meaning there will be no tickets sold on the gate at Gateshead International Stadium.
