With those trophies, we just keep on stacking them up and we hope for more. I’m really, really grateful and hungry as well. I’m grateful to God because I’ve worked hard to get into opportunities like that and get into moments like that. We know we’re not the finished article yet, and we can always improve and get better, so we hope for more moments like this.”
The official Premier League site going on to add: ‘The Magpies have now had two of the last three Guinness Goal of the Month winners, after William Osula landed the award for his screamer against Manchester United in March 2026. Elanga’s success also means a Newcastle player has won the award eight times in total, a tally only bettered by Chelsea and Man Utd, with nine and 10 respectively. He opened the scoring in an impressive 2-0 win over Spurs when he controlled Amar Dedic’s header from Nico Gonzalez’s raking crossfield ball, before spinning and firing in off the far post.’
