Joe Cole has been talking about Newcastle United.

The former Liverpool and England winger with some major NUFC predictions.

United taking on Sunderland in this first SJP derby for a decade, as the Mackems have been hiding out in the lower leagues.

If Eddie Howe and his players can make it three Premier League wins in a row, having previously dispatched Man U and Chelsea, then NUFC will close to within four points of the Champions League qualifying positions.

Joe Cole declaring: “Newcastle may be out of the Champions League but they played well in the first half against Barcelona. Sunderland won the reverse fixture, but they’ve only won three times on the road, and I just think Newcastle will win and stop Sunderland doing the double over them here.”

With an international break to immediately follow, this feels a huge game for Newcastle United, get a win and the final seven games of the season will have a lot of potential.

Joe Cole going on to predict: “Anthony Gordon has 15 (ED: It is actually 16) goals in all competitions, including two goals in as many Premier League games played since the start of March. He’s always dangerous so I’m backing Gordon to score.”

Those last two goals in the Premier League for the former Everton star, saw Anthony Gordon open the scoring against both Man U and Chelsea.

Joe Cole also has one other big prediction, forecasting that Nick Woltemade will either score or get an assist today: “The big man is usually a big character in a huge game like this. He could make himself even more of a hero for the Newcastle fans here.”

After what happened on Wearside, it would be great to see this Big Nick prediction come true.
