It has now been reported that a £100m transfer has been agreed between Newcastle United and Tottenham for Sandro Tonali.
Wednesday night bringing the report.
The Mail reporting it as ‘breaking news’ that: ‘Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali.’
It had previously been claimed that one or two offers had been made by Tottenham.
Now it is claimed that they have reached a figure that United find acceptable.
The Mail stating: ‘A deal between the two clubs worth £92.5million is understood to be at the final stages, with add-ons centred around Champions League qualification taking the fee up to £100m.’
They say that their information is that Tottenham put in an initial bid of £75m.
Then when that was instantly rejected, came back with a second bid of £90m.
The Mail going on to say: ‘But Newcastle were thought to have been holding out for a package worth £100m – and now Spurs have agreed to up their offer to that sum.’
