West Brom fans have been reacting after drawing Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.

The match no confirmed as a 7.45pm kick-off on Wednesday 26 August.

Some ‘interesting’ comments from West Brom fans below.

West Brom fans commenting via their WBA Unofficial message board:

‘As far as free hits go it’s not the worst one: Natives are restless, key players sold and few coming in, new manager with no experience in this country…Newcastle are in for a rough season and an early cup exit would really f… then off.’

‘I would say that is the toughest draw we could have had.’

‘Not a bad time to play Newcastle, they are in crisis at the moment’

‘It’s a rubbish draw geographically but it’ll be a probably lethargic Newcastle Reserves that we play, so it’ll be up to us to decide if we want to have a go at winning by playing a strong team or not.’

‘Good day out. But rubbish draw.’

‘Side in the Champions League last season

Adds to our tough start to the season.’

‘Went to the 2-1 win in the league cup, extra time. We got battered all night and stole it. In the most stereotypical thing ever, Ant and Dec appeared in the nightclub we went to afterwards.’

‘The Geordies were a good side under SBR and had plenty of chances but we didn’t get battered. Sporadic breakaways and then great feet by Clement to create that winner.’

‘Whyte scored a cracking winner in 89/90 in the League Cup at St James’Park. A week later Newcastle won 5-1 at the hawthorns.’

‘The 1-5 against Newcastle was an horrific night. Mickey Quinn and Mark McGhee up front for them, they played in Green and Yellow stripes just to rub it in.’

‘Will be on telly I guess.’

‘All League Cup ties are televised on Sky now.’

‘Good draw. Free hit. Test ourselves against a Prem side. No embarrassment if we lose.’

‘Rubbish draw. Against one of the highest ranked teams it was possible to get. Probably about as far away as we could wish to travel.’

‘Don’t we play Boro a few days after? May as well stay in the north east.’

‘I’d be surprised if they didn’t.

Do a bit of spying whilst there…’

‘I’d love nothing more than to see Newcastle relegated. Horrible club. Deluded arrogant fans. They’re basically the Villa of the North.’
