Three weeks ago it was reported that Newcastle United were set to sign Kyle Healy-Matthews.
The highly rated West Ham United starlet to move to St James’ Park.
Kyle Healy-Matthews is an exciting prospect that the Hammers had been desperate not to lose.
A number of Premier League clubs have been competing to sign the teenage right-back but the Secret Scout site reported that Newcastle United were set to win the battle and sign the young player who will turn 17 in November.
Now they have followed up that report three weeks ago with an update, saying that personal terms have now been agree between NUFC and Kyle Healy-Matthews and the deal set to be completed
Obviously one for the future but this looks a very positive addition to the Newcastle United Academy set-up. Kyle Healy-Matthews initially looking set to be part of the NUFC Under 18s. The young right-back reported to be quick and with very good defensive ability, a stand out player in the West Ham young set-up.
Since the October 2021 takeover, Newcastle United have signed a lot of promising young players from other clubs, which will hopefully pay longer-term benefits.
Leo Shahar looks set to be one of the most likely of these to now get closer to minutes for the first team, having regularly trained with the senior squad last season.
Meanwhile, the Secret Scout site is also reporting that Newcastle United are set to sign Eli Hall.
Spurs were one of the many other clubs trying to sign the exciting teenager.
Schoolboy Eli Hall made history when last season he became the youngest ever to play for the Ipswich Town Under 18s at the age of 14 years and 165 days old.
At the end of the season Eli Hall deregistered from the Ipswich Town academy and by doing so, this allows young players to move on elsewhere and only minimal compensation needing to be paid by the new club.
Ipswich Town had been desperate to keep him but having repeatedly refused the offer of a scholarship is now set to join Newcastle United.
Obviously Newcastle United fans desperate to hear news of more senior signings this summer but also great to hear that so many moves are being made to bring in the potential stars of the future.
