Interesting now to look at the Newcastle United contracts situation after Tuesday’s official updates.

A busy summer ahead and United expected to be active in the transfer market.

However, we are now getting a far better idea of where things stand with in terms of players who were contracted to the club in 2025/26.

Where we are now in terms of Newcastle United contracts.

It was officially revealed today that Fabian Schar has signed a new deal, instead of his deal set to end on 30 June 2026, it has now been extended to 30 June 2027.

Anthony Gordon was of course sold to Barcelona on Friday for around £70m.

Today has now seen a number of players formally confirmed as also leaving.

Set to see their Newcastle United contracts definitely end on 30 June 2026 are Kieran Trippier, John Ruddy, Matt Targett, Emil Krafth and Aaron Ramsdale.

As you can see below, not the biggest Newcastle United first team squad that is left after these departures.

No mention today regarding Harrison Ashby but he has been contracted to the club for three and a half years now and even if his contract has got any longer to run, it is difficult to see him getting any first team action next season for Newcastle United.
