Matthias Jaissle watched on as Yoane Wissa wrapped up the Newcastle United win at Tottenham.
Anthony Elanga had once again scored the opening goal, following up his first ever Premier League strike for United, which came against Liverpool last Sunday.
A brilliant long pass from Nico Gonzalez was expertly headed to Anthony Elanga, Sandro Tonali was (allegedly!) marking the winger but was powerless to stop Elanga brilliant spinning and giving the keeper no chance with his effort that went in off the far post.
A well delivered corner from Lewis Hall saw Nick Woltemade head it down into the danger area and a very clever flick from Yoane Wissa confirmed the three points with less than 20 minutes remaining.

Yoane Wissa stating: “Of course we lost so many players but the club worked well. It is challenging and we need players to step up, like me for instance, I didn’t play last year and now I have a chance to play. So many players have to step up and enjoy the challenge and with the fans behind us nobody can stop us. I am not injured and I feel confident now. I trust myself and I trust the manager and even though I didn’t play last year I have trained a lot with the players and they know my movements.”
Eddie Howe was a brilliant manager for Newcastle United and just maybe another one has been unearthed by NUFC…
Yoane Wissa declaring: “Eddie Howe did a top job and the new manager [Matthias Jaissle] came with a new identity and that first goal is something we have been working on. Every part of the game we are really precise. He is a really dynamic manager, so we have to give everything and I think he is the best Newcastle United signing so far.”
