Sunday morning I was reading stuff on The Mag, no surprise that the mood amongst Newcastle United fans wasn’t great.
A lot of articles talking about the Bournemouth match and of course the bigger picture.
Saturday afternoon a 2-1 loss to the Cherries, Newcastle having equalised but then conceding late on.
Three defeats in a row, all three of them 2-1 losses.
One of the articles on Sunday morning caught my attention in particular.
It was an article by Tony Mallabar.
Tony talking about his unhappiness with how things were going, especially having lost twice to the Mackems this season, plus how the second of those Sunderland losses had then kicked off this current three game losing run.
He referenced his love of Rafa Benitez and wanting the Spaniard to return in place of Eddie Howe.
Tony registering his disappointment with the players, namechecking Elanga, Woltemade, Livramento and Ramsdale in particular.
I agreed with some of what he had to say, disagreed with other bits.
However, I was absolutely appalled, totally sickened, when I read this line from Tony:
‘Anyway, when we have a terrible result, after the match I always try and cheer myself up with a ham and pineapple pizza (with extra cheese)…’
Pineapple on pizza???
I’m sorry, but that really crosses the line, totally unacceptable.
Newcastle United losing football matches and fans slagging off players and the manager is one thing, BUT thinking that pineapple is something that should go on top of a pizza, you should be ashamed of yourself!
