So, the dust has settled and the usual articles from the media and Newcastle United fans on The Mag have come out in support of Eddie Howe.
People reminding us of how grateful Newcastle United fans should be etc etc but consider this.
And when you read these words it will make you think “oh yeah, I remember that at my school.”
When I was at school there was a bloke called Mr Curtis and he was a top bloke.
Everyone liked him. He was a great maths teacher. You would really enjoy his lessons. He was full of enthusiasm and belief and that’s how you felt in his lessons – there was nothing you felt you couldn’t do. A lot of the kids he taught were low ability but he’d get the best out of them. He’d take them from a grade E to a D or maybe even a C. He was a young enthusiastic teacher, a perfect fit for the kids he taught.
The other teacher was Mr Knight.
He was the head of maths and a more miserable get you would struggle to meet.
Where Mr Curtis laughed, Mr Knight frowned. He wore these glasses that even looked stern and complimented his miserable grey, boring face. He taught the top set and achieved excellent results year after year. He was 20 years older than Mr Curtis and had way more experience than him. He knew what it took to get the best grades.
So if you wanted to hit the top you wanted Mr Knight and if you wanted motivation to get to out of failing you wanted Mr Curtis.
Funny thing is, there’s no way either could do the other one’s job. Read that sentence again.
So,,, you know where I’m going with this.
Which one is Eddie Howe?
Is he Mr Curtis or Mr Knight?
Is Eddie Howe a mix of the pair?
If he is Mr Curtis, is he going to turn into Mr Knight?
Which one do we need now?
