The summer 2026 Newcastle United transfer window is now closed.
For Premier League clubs looking to bring players in, 11pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 September 2026) was when the window closed.
In terms of players heading out, there is the possibility that the odd sale or loan could still happen as a number of other leagues are yet to see their windows close, they can still bring signings in.
On Tuesday the headline news was the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille, this a reported £55m deal which includes a guaranteed transfer fee of £51m+ and then potential future add-ons taking it up to around that £55m total.
In terms of outgoing on Tuesday, Nick Woltemade was the main story as he went on loan to Juventus with a reported £3.5m loan fee to be paid by the Serie A club.
That makes it a total of 25 transfers in this summer 2026 Newcastle United transfer window, with eight coming in and 17 going out.

So based on these loose figures which include the reported potential future add-ons, it comes out as a £35m (£34.7m to be exact) net spend by Newcastle United this summer.
What also needs to be factored in to the summer transfer trading is the impact on the wage bill.
I think fair to say that the ins and outs will have significantly reduced the wage bill to a decent degree. The likes of Bruno, Tonali, Trippier and Gordon were amongst the very highest earners, with others such as Krafth, Targett, Ruddy etc also leaving. Then you have Aaron Ramsdale also coming off the NUFC wage bill, plus other clubs paying the wages of Woltemade and Vlachodimos.
The eight signings will be earning good money but I think when you total up the wages paid to this group of 24-year-old and under new faces it will be far less than the total wages saved.
