Zadok Yohanna has made his decision between Brighton, Newcastle United and Chelsea, signing a five-year contract.
The 18-year-old AIK winger was reported to have been in advanced talks with Brighton, only for then claims of £20m+ bids from both Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Whatever the truth of those alleged bids from elsewhere, Zadok Yohanna has made his decision.
An official club statement declaring: ‘Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed the signing of winger Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract until June 2031 for undisclosed terms. Zadok will complete his move to the club when the transfer window reopens and it will be subject to the usual regulatory approvals.’
The statement from the Seagulls going on to add: ‘The 18-year-old Nigerian, who turns 19 later this month, will join us having established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in Europe, after making a big impact in Sweden’s top division this season. Zadok began his career at the Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to Sweden in 2025, where he quickly adapted to European football with AIK. He has made 18 appearances for AIK this season in the league and cup, scoring five goals and providing four assists.’
As for the player himself, Zadok Yohanna claiming: “Ignore the noise, it was always Brighton.”
Having left Alexander Isak’s former club AIK, the teenager saying: “I watch Premier League games a lot, so I know the teams that use young players, and Brighton is one of them. They are really good at developing young talents, and I think their style of play will fit me a lot.”
