On 12 June 2025, Tottenham announced Thomas Frank as their new manager.
Less than eight months on they have made an official announcement explaining why he has been sacked.
This comes only hours after Tottenham and Thomas Frank lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle United and Eddie Howe.
The Tottenham official statement starting: ‘The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.’
Since the opening day of the season, Thomas Frank and Tottenham have won only one home match in all domestic competitions, ironically, against Brentford.
However, that is where any positivity ends when taking away Brentford’s manager.
Thomas Frank sacked as Tottenham sit fifth bottom of the Premier League, nine places behind…Brentford.
Tottenham going on to say: ‘Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.’
The sacking especially embarrassing as today’s release of the latest Brentford accounts, show that Tottenham paid the Bees a hefty £6.7m in compensation.
Which works out at roughly £1m a month Thomas Frank lasted in the job, this though without taking into consideration his wages and what it will cost now in compensation to sack him, never mind the money spent on his signings this season.
Tottenham concluding their official statement with: ‘Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.’
