It is a new club record for Newcastle United.
Something that had never been done before.
United creating a new St James’ Park record.
Aston Villa on Saturday was the clincher.
The longest ever run of home games without Newcastle United keeping a single clean sheet.
The 2-1 win over Hull City had made it 15 in a row, equalling the previous record.
However, the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa has made it a record breaking 16 in a row without a clean sheet in all competitions.
Not since 2o January 2026 have United kept a clean sheet at home, that was a 3-0 Champions League victory over PSV.
Whilst the Aston Villa goal from Manzambi means it is 13 in a row without a Premier League clean sheet, the 2-0 against Palace on 4 January 2026 was the last one we had in the league.
These are the last 21 matches at St James’ Park (Premier League unless noted otherwise), reading backwards from the most recent:
Newcastle 0 Aston Villa 1
Newcastle 2 Hull 1
Newcastle 2 Bournemouth 2
Newcastle 3 West Brom 2 (Carabao Cup)
Newcastle 2 Liverpool 2
Newcastle 3 West Ham 1
Newcastle 3 Brighton 1
Newcastle 1 Bournemouth 2
Newcastle 1 Sunderland 2
Newcastle 1 Barcelona 1 (Champions League)
Newcastle 1 Manchester City 3 (FA Cup)
Newcastle 2 Manchester United 1
Newcastle 2 Everton 3
Newcastle 3 Qarabag 2 (Champions League)
Newcastle 2 Brentford 3
Newcastle 0 Aston Villa 2
Newcastle 3 PSV 0 (Champions League 21 January 2026)
Newcastle 0 Manchester City 2 (Carabao Cup)
Newcastle 3 Bournemouth 3 (FA Cup NUFC won 7-6 on penalties)
Newcastle 4 Leeds 3
Newcastle 2 Crystal Palace 0 (4 January 2026)
So the last 16 Newcastle United home games (all competitions) there has not been a single clean sheet.
In the 16 NUFC home matches before this current 16 game run there were six clean sheets, working backwards:
Newcastle 3 PSV 0 (21 January 2026)

Newcastle 2 Athletic Bilbao 0 (5 November 2025)
Newcastle 2 Spus 0 (19 October 2025)
