Crystal Palace have now reached agreement with Pierre Sage for him to become their new manager.
David Ornstein of The Athletic with the exclusive, reporting on Monday that Oliver Glasner’s replacement comes in on a three-year deal.
The man from The Athletic says that his work permit is sorted and Pierre Sage starts won on 6 July 2026.
He adds that the new Crystal Palace boss will be joined in south London by his assistant at Lens, Jamal Alioui, with existing coaches Paddy McCarthy and Andy Quy staying on to be part of Sage’s new team. Other staff members expected to be added as well.
A stunning rise to Premier League management with the 47-year-old never having a senior managerial post until January 2024.
Pierre Sage previously had a number jobs, including as a sports coordinator, technical director, scout, and youth coach, then became manager at Lyon between January 2024 and January 2025.
He has got the Crystal Palace job on the back of a stunning 2025/26 season.
Sage guiding Lens to a second place finish in Ligue 1 last season (only six points behind PSG) and with the help of Allan Saint-Maximin they won the Coupe de France for the first time in club history.
As you can see below, that will still leave three Premier League clubs yet to have a manager in place for the 2026/27 season.
