In this international break Sean Steur was called up for a very first time for the Netherlands Under 21s thanks to his impressive form for Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old then made his first ever appearance at that level for his country as the Netherlands played out a goalless draw at home to Norway on Friday 2 October.
Sean Steur came off the bench in the 83rd minute and ironically it was Kees Smit he replaced, the AZ Alkmaar midfielder who United have been regularly linked with in the past.
A week later and now the teenager has made his first ever start for the Netherlands Under 21s.
Sean Steur starting in a European Championship qualifier as the Netherlands played away against their Under 21 Slovenia counterparts.
The Newcastle United midfielder impressing as he helped his team to a 4-2 victory.
Sean Steur playing the full match and giving an excellent all round team performance, the 18-year-old also managing to get booked early in the second half during this all action display.
The young United star must be buzzing with how quickly his career is progressing after playing a minimal number of matches for Ajax before getting his £23m move to Newcastle United. Playing Premier League football and already looking so impressive, that then leading to the 18-year-old also getting his chance to now looking set to become a regular starter for the Netherlands Under 21s playing alongside older international teammates.
On Tuesday the Netherlands Under 21s are home to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Sean Steur hoping to get the chance to follow up yesterday’s impressive first start at that level.

The United star then grabbing a goal of his own when a shot came back off the post and he smashed the rebound into the roof of the net.

Lewis Hall outstanding in this victory against a Czech side that were a man down after 25 minutes. Anthony Gordon just pipped this United star to the man of the match award as they combined superbly down the left side. Less said about most of their teammates the better! Newcastle’s Lukas Hornicek watching this Nations League clash from the bench.
