On Wednesday it was reported that Craig Bellamy was set to move into club management.

The former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker is currently the Wales boss and BBC Sport reported that he was in advanced talks with Burnley to become their new manager. Former Newcastle United midfielder Scott Parker having left Turf Moor towards the end of last season, as Burnley were relegated.

BBC Sport saying Burnley had made an approach to the Football Association of Wales with Craig Bellamy, with contract talks happening with the Championship side.

With BBC Sport seeing it as a formality that the move was going to happen, with their sources telling them that Burnley were willing to meet the compensation clause in Bellamy’s contract with Wales.

However, Thursday has seen Sky Sports reveal that Craig Bellamy’s prospective move to Burnley has fallen through.

The broadcaster not reporting exactly why this has happened but Sky Sports reporting that Burnley have now accepted that Craig Bellamy won’t be the replacement for Scott Parker, with the Championship club now understood to be considering Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards for the vacancy,
