Meet the hosts:
Jamie Smith: A writer for The Mag for over 25 years, starting during the print edition era as a junior match reporter and eventually rising to senior writer status on the online version (still rocking out those match reports). Jamie is a Season Ticket holder of 30 years+ with a long history of travelling adventures following Newcastle United. These have had to be moderated in recent times as his young son Blake now attends home games with Jamie and the lads, so he knows a parents perspective.
Jamie is the host of The Mag podcast and features regularly on Radio 5 Live, Sky Sports News and various local media offering the viewpoint of the long-standing Newcastle fan.
Simon Cahill: A Southern convert to all things NUFC, Simon has earned his stripes with two decades as a season ticket holder, enduring the Ashley era before the rollercoaster of recent successes. His parents house is a useful halfway point for more extensive travels and they’re always delighted to see everyone…
Simon is the co-host of the Mag podcast an the voice of the adopted fanbase. He is also the source for questions about anything technical as he understands computers and plays Star Trek games.
David Hutchinson aka The Miserable Mag: Hutch has an uncanny ability to find the cloud to any silver lining. His glass almost completely empty view of anything that happens at NUFC is almost therapeutic as he provides a grounded viewpoint on The Mag podcast.
Hutch has had a season ticket for almost 20 years, most of which were seasons dour enough to appeal to his personality. His editing skills are invaluable to the podcast and his uncannily analytical abilities can provide deep insight into games until the point he is interrupted.
