Alan Shearer has cast his eye over Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The two clubs coming out of an international break which has lasted three weeks.
Now the sixth round of Premier League matches.
Newcastle United facing Coventry City at 8pm on Monday night.
Alan Shearer ahead of the match : “This is a tough one for Newcastle going away to Coventry. Frank Lampard got the win that they needed before the break and he would have had a good three weeks off the back of that. I imagine he would have liked to have another game sooner rather than later to try and continue the momentum, but they will still be feeling good, which is why I think it could be tricky for Newcastle.”
The United legend predicting a draw in this game.
A win for Newcastle United would see them on eleven points from the opening six Premier League matches and potentially top three after Monday if other results go their way.
As for the Mackems, it is a 3pm kick-off on Saturday at home to Brighton.
Alan Shearer confident on what will happen to Sunderland: “It sounds as if Brian Brobbey’s injured for Sunderland, which I think will be key because I think he is a huge part in how Sunderland play, especially with the way he holds a ball up. It sounds as if he’s going to be out for the game, which I think will damage Sunderland. Looking at Brighton, I mean, Fabian Hürzeler and his boys have been superb, so I’m going to go away win. Brighton are flying high at the moment and are in the Champions League spots, but I’ll be really surprised if they ended up there at the end of the season, but I do expect them to finish in around sixth or seventh, which again would be an amazing achievement.”
A Brighton win could see Sunderland in the relegation zone after this sixth round of matches.
