Compared to the other three previous full Premier League seasons (after the Newcastle United takeover), this last (2025/26) one was a shambles.
Here is what I think.
We’re in a race and our tyres burst. The good parts (players) have now got sold and the driver (manager) has been replaced. The car has rolled into a ditch.
The usual half dozen Premier League clubs are allowed to use more fuel (money) to buy other parts. We sell our best part then roll into the ditch. While we’re stuck our parts are sold.
Replaced by new parts designed a day ago and have never been tested in our race.
Meanwhile all the race commentators laugh and jeer. We get a load of negativity and some fans actually get negative as well.
Two of those half dozen teams use a whole load more fuel than they’re allowed but get away with it. The less ‘prestigious’ teams get penalised straight away, even with the lower race which has 13 teams.
One part getting sold had the domino effect and sold the other good parts, apart from a few.
Then that means Newcastle United fall into the ditch of negativity and the unknown.
So even if the media are jeering and booing we have to be optimistic.
Stay behind our team. Stay behind the driver. And believe in the parts.
Then we’ll get out the ditch.
No matter how optimistic or pessimistic you were before. Just believe and give your full support.
