Sevilla have signed Odysseas Vlachodimos.
An official statement on Wednesday from Newcastle United revealing the news.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper will be on loan for the 2026/27 season at Sevilla.
This will make it two seasons in a row Odysseas Vlachodimos has been on loan at the La Liga club.
The official NUFC statement detailing: ‘Newcastle United goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos will remain at Sevilla for the 2026/27 campaign after signing another season-long loan with the La Liga side. The Greek international made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Spanish outfit after making the switch last August. Everybody at Newcastle United wishes Odysseas well during his time on loan.’
Odysseas Vlachodimos was part of the PSR double deal back in June 2024 when the two clubs needed to make extra profit from transfers before the 30 June 2024 deadline to avoid breaching three-year spending rules.
Elliot Anderson was sold to Nottingham Forest for £35m and Odysseas Vlachodimos bought for £20m. United had asked for other players that they did want but Forest refused, so desperate were Newcastle that they had to in the end take a goalkeeper they had no intention of playing. The Greece international has still not started a single game for Newcastle United.
