The question we were asking fans on Thursday: How many points will Newcastle United pick up in their first six matches?
Out of 18 possible points, how many will Matthias Jaissle’s team bank?
It is of course Liverpool at St James’ Park on Sunday.
Then follows Tottenham away, Bournemouth home, Leeds away, before Hull at St James’ Park.
A three week international break then follows before the sixth Premier League match of the season, Coventry away on Monday 12 October.
A very eventful summer, so far. New manager and coaching staff, plus a serious turnover in players, in and out,
The big question, after the opening half dozen Premier League matches how many points do you think Matthias Jaissle’s team will have picked up?
Here are the responses from the Newcastle United fans who voted, the percentage of supporters who voted for each points number (each total rounded up/down to the nearest whole number):
0 – 3%
1 – 2%
2 – 2%
3 – 5%
4 – 9%
5 – 11%
6 – 13%
7 – 12%
8 – 12%
9 – 9%
10 – 9%
11 – 4%
12 – 4%
13 – 1%
14 – 1%
15 – 1%
16 – 0%
18 – 2%
Looking through the stats above, a majority (57%) of Newcastle United fans (who voted) believe NUFC will get 7 points or less from the opening half dozen games.
That then becomes 69% of fans believing Matthias Jaissle and his players will pick up 8 or less points from a possible 18.
At the other end of things, only 13% of Newcastle United fans thinking that NUFC will bank more than 10 points in the first six matches.
Here’s hoping the new manager and a much-changed team and squad can surprise most of us, in a positive way…
