The departure of Mike Ashley meant the return of Wor Flags to matches, as they ended their boycott almost five years ago now.
The pre-match flag displays once again becoming part of the matchday routine, starting with the first post-takeover match against Spurs at St James’ Park in October 2021.
Then ahead of the first home match of the 2022/23 season, Wor Flags invited all fans to consider helping them with future flag displays by setting up a regular monthly donation to assist in funding them.
Wor Flags now informing Newcastle United fans about their next St James’ Park display.
Something very special for the first home match of the season in just over four weeks time when Liverpool visit St James’ Park.
Wor Flags message to Newcastle United fans about Kevin Keegan via their social media:
‘We’ll be paying tribute to the most important man in Newcastle United’s history at our season opener against Liverpool on Sunday 23 August. If you’d like to contribute to our display you can do so on our website.’
So if you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to Wor Flags to help support the special Kevin Keegan display at the Liverpool match, plus of course showing your support for all of their displays.
These unpaid volunteers put in an incredible amount of time and work, especially this season when the match schedule has been relentless.

Wor Flags goal is straightforward – to create displays at St James’ Park that are worthy of this great club. We will achieve this in the following ways:
Hundreds of black and white hand-held waver flags
Larger custom design one and two poler waver flags
Large text banners featuring messages of support
Foils, surfers and custom tifos’
