To nobody’s surprise, the Chelsea owners have sacked Liam Rosenior.
This comes only three months after they moved him over from the other club they own, Strasbourg.
You can always rely on the Chelsea owners to cheer you up and their official statement has a classic comedy line.
Announcing their sacking of Liam Rosenior, the Chelsea owners stating: “As the Club works to bring stability to the Head Coach position, we will undertake a process of self-reflection to make the right long-term appointment.”
A little bit too late for that!
The Chelsea owners sacked Thomas Tuchel (who had won the Champions League with Chelsea) only four weeks into their first season in charge, after three wins, a draw and two defeats in six Premier League matches.
Since buying the club less than four years ago, the people picking the team have been Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor, Frank Lampard, Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca, Calum McFarlane, Liam Rosenior and now back to Calum McFarlane.
The Chelsea owners in their statement: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, we would like to place on record our gratitude to Liam and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season. This has not been a decision the Club has taken lightly, however recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season. Everyone at Chelsea FC wishes Liam every success in the future.”
Intriguing to see who the Chelsea owners bring in next AND how long they last!
