Sky Sports have revealed that Arsenal have still not made direct contact with Newcastle United to make an official offer for Bruno Guimaraes.

We head into August tomorrow and across the summer so far, day after day, week after week, month after month, Arsenal continually using willing client journalists to push their claimed interest.

Only three weeks now until Arsenal kick off the 2026/27 Premier League season on Friday 21 August and time for them to now belatedly act in the normal way and make a formal offer for Bruno Guimaraes, or end the embarrassing underhand antics using their shills in the ‘journalism’ ranks.

The Newcastle United squad fly off to Spain on Friday for their La Manga training camp, with Ross Wilson in temporary charge after the resignation of Eddie Howe.

Matthias Jaissle currently in talks to complete his move to Newcastle United after resigning as Al Ahli manager.

Jaissle set to join the Newcastle United squad and take over from Wilson on Saturday if all goes according to schedule.

With Sky Sports reporting that Bruno Guimaraes is set to fly direct from Brazil to Spain, where he has been having an extended break with his family after his World Cup involvement, the United captain scheduled to meet up with the rest of the Newcastle players on Sunday.

Sky Sports adding that Bruno Guimaraes will then join in with training on Monday, unless of course in the meantime Arsenal, or any other club, make a formal offer that meets Newcastle United’s valuation.

The broadcaster adding that Bruno Guimaraes was given the choice of flying to the UK and travelling with the rest of the Newcastle United squad, or going direct from Brazil to La Manga, with the NUFC captain choosing the latter.
